NYSE Group and Blockchain.com Sign MOU to Open Tokenized US Stocks and ETFs to 44 Million Accounts
On September 23, Blockchain.com announced it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the NYSE Group to build a compliant channel for its users to trade tokenized US stocks and ETFs, anchored on the exchange operator’s planned digital alternative trading system (digital ATS). Beyond front-end trading access, the two sides will cross-license market data: ICE Data Services plans to distribute Blockchain.com’s high-frequency crypto market data and research to its institutional subscribers, while Blockchain.com will embed ICE and NYSE securities feeds into its own terminal apps.
- Tokenized securities natively support fractional investing and could remove traditional exchange-hour limits, enabling a 24/7/365 global trading network with faster on-chain clearing and settlement
- Since its founding in 2011, Blockchain.com has supported over 95 million crypto wallets and matched more than $1.1 trillion in cumulative trading volume
- Citi Institute estimates global tokenized assets could reach $5.5 trillion by 2030 under its base-case scenario
Distribution
A crypto-native platform becomes a compliant outlet for a major exchange, giving 44 million accounts direct access to tokenized US equities
Data Layer
Two-way licensing between ICE and crypto data further blurs the line between traditional quotes and on-chain liquidity
Execution Risk
The project still requires full regulatory approval, and no timeline has been set for the digital ATS

Hong Kong’s HKMA Puts CMU Fully On-Chain: 24/7 Real-Time Settlement by Year-End, With SFC Licensing Tokenized Gold and Stablecoins
On September 23, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said it will migrate its Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU), the city’s primary debt-securities settlement platform, entirely onto blockchain, targeting real-time, 24/7 on-chain settlement by the end of 2026 and laying the groundwork for a future digital Hong Kong dollar and CBDC settlement, while also enabling direct settlement of regulated stablecoins and tokenized deposits. The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) unveiled a phased regulatory strategy that will require licensing for tokenized gold and stablecoins, advance a real-world asset tokenization framework, and add AI-powered market surveillance tools such as CrypTech with stronger custody and AML controls.
- The first phase will involve Standard Chartered’s HKDAP (1:1 backed by Hong Kong dollars) and HSBC’s forthcoming HKD stablecoin; HKDAP circulation was just 522,000 tokens in August, still early
- HKEX plans to launch yuan-denominated gold futures early next year, broadening offshore yuan commodity exposure
- An expert group including JPMorgan, HSBC, UBS, Ant and HashKey is driving work on legal standards and infrastructure for digital securities
Infrastructure
Moving CMU on-chain shifts settlement from T+1/T+2 toward real time, a landmark step from pilot to implementation for Hong Kong
Regulatory Model
A phased licensing approach leading with tokenized gold offers a replicable compliance template for RWA
Regional Role
Its position as an institutional-grade blockchain hub bridging the mainland and global markets is reinforced

Korea’s KB Securities Teams With Securitize and Optimism to Explore Institutional Tokenized Securities on OP Mainnet
On September 23, Korea’s KB Securities said it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Securitize and the Optimism Foundation to explore the development and distribution of tokenized securities for institutional investors in Korea. The roles are clear-cut: KB Securities brings underwriting, issuance and distribution; Securitize supplies regulated tokenization infrastructure; and Optimism provides OP Mainnet blockchain technology. The first products will be a tokenized money market fund for institutions and a tokenized fund built around one of KB Asset Management’s flagship strategies.
- Longer term, the collaboration is expected to extend to tokenized stocks and ADRs, corporate bonds and Korean government bonds, paced by Korea’s evolving tokenized-securities framework
- KB Securities is a wholly owned subsidiary of KB Financial Group, managing KRW 76.5 trillion in assets as of end-2025 and ranking No. 1 in Korean DCM underwriting for 15 straight years
- Securitize manages roughly $5 billion in AUM, with partners including Apollo, BlackRock, BNY, KKR and Hamilton Lane
Asia Signal
Tokenization extends from dollar markets into won-denominated assets, opening a new non-dollar RWA lane
Chain Choice
OP Mainnet becomes the pick for institutional tokenization, making Layer 2 a base for compliant issuance
Structure
The “local broker + global compliant infrastructure + public chain” split can be copied in other markets

Solana’s On-Chain RWA Value Hits a Record $4.6B as Holder Wallets Nearly Double in 30 Days
On September 23, Solana’s official data showed its on-chain RWA value reached a record $4.6 billion, with distributed assets at $4.49 billion, up 11.47% over 30 days. The number of wallets holding RWA instruments rose to 685,850, nearly double the level a month earlier. Solana noted that the first three weeks of September accounted for most of the liquidity inflow.
- By issuer, Circle leads with $7.5 billion, followed by Tether Holdings at $3.8 billion and BitGo at $1.6 billion
- Sub-second block finality reduces slippage on large institutional orders, encouraging traditional managers to migrate notes and Treasuries on-chain
- The next ecosystem milestone is Firedancer, the independent validator client built by Jump Crypto and slated for mainnet testing in Q4 2026
Chain Competition
Low cost and fast settlement keep drawing institutional capital from networks such as Ethereum
Use Case Shift
Tokenized instruments are already used as collateral and for automated liquidation in lending protocols
Scale View
At $4.6 billion the market is still early, with institutional issuance pipelines onboarding through Q4

MoonPay to Acquire North Capital for $60M in Stock, Adding a Broker-Dealer License for RWA Tokenization
On September 23, crypto payments firm MoonPay announced an all-stock acquisition of SEC-registered broker-dealer North Capital for $60 million. North Capital holds broker-dealer and alternative trading system (ATS) licenses, and the deal is seen as a key step for MoonPay to enter real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, giving it the ability to issue, distribute and trade tokenized securities within a compliant framework.
- North Capital holds both a broker-dealer license and ATS operating authority, letting MoonPay issue and trade tokenized securities under US regulation after the deal
- Crypto firms have been snapping up legacy licensed institutions, as compliance licenses rather than technology become the core barrier to tokenized-securities competition
- On the same day, SoFi Bank began stablecoin settlement on the Mastercard network, projected to reach $25 billion in annualized card volume, as on-chain dollars push further into payments
M&A Trend
Crypto platforms are buying established licensed institutions to gain securities business capabilities quickly
Competitive Shift
The moat in tokenized securities moves from on-chain technology to licenses and distribution networks
Payment Convergence
Stablecoin settlement combined with card networks pushes on-chain dollars toward everyday payments
